Bread Upon the Waters

This is a ministry to assist our first time visitors by giving them a warm welcome and by letting them know we really appreciate them. We let them know that we have much to offer those interested in finding nourishment and fulfillment in their Christian walk with the Lord. Besides greeting visitors at the door on Sunday mornings, that afternoon a loaf of bread and a packet of information are taken to their home and placed on the door (the greeters do not stay for a visit). Then, every effort is made to stay in touch in the weeks ahead through phone visits and personal contact. We find it helpful in assimilating newcomers into the life and ministry of St. Stephen’s to have them identify some of their talents and passions. This provides a starting point from which to grow spiritually in this environment that empowers all of us to thrive in our work and to be enthusiastically proud of being a part of St. Stephen’s.
